Who are MABS? |
MABS is a free, confidential and independent service for people in debt or in danger of getting into debt. This initiative is funded by the Department of Social Welfare, and its aim is to provide advice and teach people to manage their own finances. |
How do MABS help people? |
MABS help people with money problems by helping them come to affordable agreements with those to whom they owe money, this could include your Credit Union. |
How are MABS and St. Mary's Navan Credit Union connected? |
The MABS office in Navan ask their clients to open an account with St. Mary's Navan Credit Union. The client then lodges an agreed amount (agreed with MABS) to their account each week or month. MABS then deduct an amount each month to cover all bills and credit commitments. |
What do I need to open a MABS Credit Union account? |
Following discussion with your MABS advisor you will need to open a Credit Union account. Your MABS advisor will provide you with documentation which you need to bring to our office. You will also need the following 3 documents to open your Credit Union account: -Photographic ID -Passport / Drivers Licence -Recent proof of address - Utility bill / Bank Statement -PPS number - official document |
